The Probate Courts Department serves as clerk for the four Probate Courts in Harris County. This department is responsible for maintaining the case records for probated estates, incapacitated persons, mentally ill persons and wills for safe keeping. The Probate Department is custodian for funds held in the clerk’s registry on behalf of estates and minors.
